The kyle Danielsen Fund

From Kyle's Mom, Roxanne Danielsen
Kyle joined the United States Coast Guard and attended boot camp in Cape May, New Jersey in April, 2009 and he graduated from there 6-12-09.His first duty station was in Cordova, Alaska where he was a deckhand on a 225’ Buoy Tender. He went to A-school in Petaluma, CA and then was sent to Alameda, CA as a deckhand for a 375’ ship where he assisted in drug busts and did several deployments including going to South America.Kyle would go to Alaska on several deployments and was in Dutch Harbor where Deadliest Catch is filmed and he got to meet all of the captains from those ships during his last deployment there. Kyle later transferred to Oak Island, North Carolina on a smaller boat. He really enjoyed living there. During his time in the Coast Guard Kyle passed the equator several times and received numerous awards documenting his accomplishments. He loved being on a ship in the ocean. Kyle was proud to be a “Coastie”! He received an honorable discharge in October, 2014 and he used his GI bill to go to Ventura College where he obtained several AA degrees. Kyle was proud to be a Coast Guard Veteran and helped to fight for his benefits with the VA. Kyle married the love of his life, Kiera Briere-Wudrick on 11/9/2019. Kyle was working at a Title Insurance company as a Title assistant following in his mom’s footsteps. Kyle was exposed to Covid19 in late December 2020 and he was hospitalized on 1/11/2021 and he passed away on 2/8/2021. Kyle was only 31 years old. Our family misses him every moment of every day. We are proud of the wonderful man he became.
A fund has been set up in Kyle's name. His family, in conjunction with VCMilC, will use donations to fund a Veteran related project in his name now that his watch has ended.

THe JOhn Noster Memorial fund
(John Noster served in the United States Army in his younger years and had a heart for the struggles that military personnel, both former and active-duty, and their families experience. His desire was to care for those who put their lives on the line for the protection of our nation. Mr. Noster passed away in October of 2019. His family recently discovered a file that contained funds and a detailed note from Mr. Noster regarding his desire to have $5,000 donated to assist both former and active-duty military veterans. VCMilC is pleased to administer the John Noster Memorial Fund with 100% of the funds going directly to the needs of military and veteran.
Our first project was partnering with the food distribution on Naval Base Ventura County to assist those military and veteran families who are struggling with food insecurity. VCMilC spent $160 to provide 7,000 bags which volunteers filled with produce. Our second project was partnering with Turning Point Foundation in July to help a Veteran get housing. VCMilC allocated $500 to assist our Veteran with a move to Nevada so that he could access permanent, affordable housing. The third project utilizing the John Noster Memorial fund involves a Veteran and his spouse. After struggling financially and using the VA to assist with housing, this Veteran was assigned a caseworker. She jumped in to save the day with a request to VCMilC to help with auto repairs. Without the repairs to his car this Veteran would not be able to get to his medical appointments. Working together the VA and VCMilC were able to provide the support and the $500 this Veteran needed and he is back on the road again. Mr. Noster's funding ($500) has allowed VCMilC to buy lunches for 50 Veterans through Mission FISH. Without his funding these Veterans would have spent a day fishing without a meal. Thanks to Mr. Noster they will be well fed. |
